Our Processes
From forest to finished product, we apply precision, sustainability, and quality control at every stage of production.
1Harvesting
Our subsidiary company, McKeever Forestry, operates dedicated harvesting machinery, producing timber specifically for our sawmill and ensuring flexibility to meet customer demand.
2Grading
Softwood logs, primarily Spruce, are graded using a four-way scanner and sorted according to diameter and length before processing.
3Debarking
Bark is removed using a debarker to prepare logs for accurate and efficient sawing.
4Sawing
Logs are sawn into predetermined sizes using highly automated sawmill equipment for accuracy and consistency.
5Sorting & Stacking
Sawn timber is electronically measured, sorted by dimensions, and assembled into finished packs.
6Machine Rounding
Smaller diameter logs are processed in our specialist machine rounding department.
7Machining
Timber is further machined to produce specialist products and finishes such as decking.
8Treatment
Finished products are pressure-treated with Osmose Naturewood to protect against decay and insect attack and extend service life.
